Sunday Services

Central Methodist Church is on Pixmore Way, SG6 3TR and has a Sunday service at 10.45am

side summer

A steward will welcome everyone at the start of the service. Our services are led by our minister, Reverend Emmanuel Onabanjo, or one of local Methodist preachers (members of our congregations or the local Methodist Circuit). We offer a variety of styles of service, but they usually include hymns, prayers, and a sermon. Holy Communion is shared in a monthly service. Hymn books and service books (including wording we follow in particular services) are available. At Central the words and order of service are often projected onto screens. The Central service is also live-streamed on Zoom.

We also hold cafe-style worship. These services are held in the hall, and are informal discussion based worship. Refreshments are served from 10.30am, and the service begins at 10.45am.  The order of service depends on who is leading the worship but will always include some singing, prayers and a Bible reading. The congregation will be invited to respond to questions arising from the Bible passage, through group discussion.

Children are always welcome. For more information about what is available for children and young people please visit the Junior Church page.

Details of all services are on the church calendar, and services across the Circuit are shown on the North Herts Methodist Circuit Preaching Plan.

We enjoy a variety of music to accompany our worship including organ, recorded music and a worship band at Central.
