Central Methodist

At our premises at Central, on the corner of Pixmore Way and Norton Way South, we have seven rooms that are available for booking:

The Sanctuary

 

Main Hall

A room measuring 12.5m by 9m, with a stage measuring 7m by 3m, with a sprung wooden floor. Tables and chairs are available for setting up as informal gathering or theatre style. A loop system is available. There is also a piano available for choirs. The room holds just under 100 chairs, with 5 round tables, for informal gatherings and just over 100 in theatre style or 70 seats around edge of room with dancing space in centre. There are also 7 (1.5 x 0.6m) tables and 8 (1.2 x 0.6m) tables available in the room.
 

Outside there is car parking space for 25 vehicles. All rooms are individually heated to requirements in cold months and there are external CCTV cameras covering the Car Park entrance and the Emergency Exit to Pixmore Way.

As we are a Methodist premises, no alcohol, gambling or betting is allowed in any of the rooms and, as part of the agreed usage of rooms, all rubbish is to be removed from the premises, but recycling materials, except paper, can be placed in the specific receptacle outside the premises. No smoking is allowed on the premises and no naked flames are allowed, other than cake candles and small votive candles positioned in/on inflammable surfaces. The suite of rooms has a child protected Cleaning Cupboard, next to the Kitchen, with all that is needed to clear rooms after use. Toilets, including an accessible toilet are available to all who use the premises.

As of 1st September 2023 the donation rates for the rooms are as follows:
The Sanctuary - £31.00, with a minimum of 3 hours booking
Main Hall - £22.40 per hour, or part thereof
All other rooms - £9.80 per hour, or part thereof

 

Norton Methodist, North Avenue

Norton Methodist church/community centre is situated on North Avenue SG61DH

 
There is a small parking area available for users of the premises.
The premises comply with all safety requirements and are fully approved for disabled access and use.
The available halls and rooms, which are fully heated by radiators controlled by pre-set timers and thermostats are:
 

Church hall

This room measures 15 x 9 metres and has the capacity for 100 people. The space can be fully seated or an empty floor.
 

Community hall

This measures 12 x 7 metres and has the capacity for 80 people
  

Wesley room

This room is 8 x 5 metres - capacity for 35 people


 

Coffee Lounge

This room, adjoining the kitchen, via a hatch measures 7 x 4 metres - capacity for 30 people
 
Hiring any of the above rooms includes the use of a fully equipped kitchen and toilet facilities.
 
The charges for room hire from January 2024 until further notice are:

Hirers are required to leave the premises clean and tidy by sweeping and cleaning as necessary. Cleaning equipment is available in the broom cupboard located under the stairs. All rubbish to be taken away by the hirer.
